James 4:13-14
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.”   Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
New International Version (NIV)
Was it Woody Allen who said, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans. "  We all make plans.  What is wrong with that?  Nothing, really.  Not our plans but our presumption gets us into trouble.

James took his first century readers to task for presuming to know what the future held for them.  If we make self-centered plans we may find that they conflict with the very gospel we say we believe.

I once heard Billy Graham preach on the brevity of life.  His longevity (99 years old this November) may seem to contradict his message on brevity.  But it does not.  We have no guarantee of tomorrow, so we must give God our lives one moment at a time.

 Pray with me:
Lord, we give our lives to thee, thine forevermore to be.  Take our moments and our days.  Let them flow in ceaseless praise.  Let us trust in you for each minute of our lives until in your providence you bring us home to you.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
Joyfully,
