with them to bring this resource to BMC2.
CARES is designed to connect surgeons – facing personal or work stressors – with trusted colleagues for one-to-one conversations, support, and resources. It is free and confidential.
You’ll find more about CARES in our “Top Stories” section and can read on for information about BMC2 publications, upcoming meetings, opportunities for engagement, and more.
Thank you for your partnership and commitment to improving cardiovascular quality of care and patient outcomes across Michigan.

BMC2 Exploring Heart
Failure Registry
|
BMC2 is exploring a population health-based registry, BMC2 Heart Failure. Jessica Golbus, MD, MS, a Heart Failure and Transplant cardiologist and expert in outcomes research and clinical trials, will lead this initiative. The goal is to improve clinical outcomes, lower costs, and deliver sustainable value for Michigan patients with heart failure and the sites that care for them. Learn more on bmc2.org.

New Medication
Data Collection
|
BMC2 is now collecting data on GLP-1 agonists and SGLT-2 inhibitors. These medications are often used for diabetes, but we will collect this data for all patients regardless of diagnosis. Learn more on bmc2.org.

We are currently updating our websites to improve functions and resources. We expect to complete these updates by late April 2026.
We will work to minimize any website downtime and notify you in advance about any planned outages.

| The BMC2 Coordinating Center will no longer email reports, data, or site correspondence to personal email addresses.
We recognize this is often not convenient, but cybersecurity threats – including those targeting hospital systems within our consortium – have prompted us to consider more secure processes. Receiving site data at your personal email address puts your site and BMC2 in danger. Emails will only be sent to provider email addresses affiliated with hospital or provider sites.

Support for BMC2 is provided by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network as part of the BCBSM Value Partnerships program.
Although Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and BMC2 work collaboratively, the opinions, beliefs, and viewpoints expressed by the author do not necessarily reflect the opinions, beliefs, and viewpoints of BCBSM or any of its employees.
Further, BCBSM does not have access to BMC2 data, and all patient episodes occurring at engaged hospitals are included in the data registries, regardless of payer.
