Fall registration opens
August 29th

The ILR Fall 2019 Course Catalog is here! Within the next two weeks, it will be arriving at a mailbox near you. As always, we've packed this semester's catalog so heavy with exciting curriculum and event opportunities, you'd be wise to do a few bicep curls to prepare for its arrival.

Not yet receiving our catalogs? Request a copy.

While we continue to have three easy ways to register--online, mail, or in person--online is your quickest option and guarantees your seat in class or on the bus.
Online registration–accessed from the ILR website–takes only minutes and requires no passwords. Once you experience the ease of registering online, you'll understand the appeal. It's the most efficient means of registering, both for you and the ILR office.

We hear you; we listen; we act
  1. I wish there was a uniform starting time to sign up. I missed a couple activities I wanted to attend because they were filled up and I signed up pretty early. Answer:  Know that over 80% of our registrations were made online last semester. We open registration at the same time for everyone (except for our donors, who receive priority registration), announced via email and a printed date on the front and back cover of our catalog. This fall, however, we've pushed the registration-opening date back a week to allow for mail delays. In addition, we'll be sharing a PDF copy of the catalog about a week ahead of our registration's opening date, allowing an early glimpse and those choosing to register by mail the opportunity to mail it back prior to opening day. Mailed registrations will be processed in the order received, but not before registration opens on August 29th.
  2. Sometimes it was unclear where the classes are held. I would like to see it on the registration. Answer: The addresses have always been in the catalog in a central location. While that still exists, we've also added all non-standard location addresses to each course description. Additionally, from our website, you can now choose Locations & Parking to find a list of all locations with addresses, each linked to a Google map.
  3. I would like to see more courses located in Hamilton and Fairfield. Answer: So would we! We field comments every semester about folks in one location longing for the classes being held in the other locations to come to their side of town. Know that we place our courses where the instructor indicates he/she prefers to teach. We encourage you to book a day of classes on the other side of town and expand your horizons.
How I Spent My Summer header
Judy in Colmar, France

Judy Macke, ILR Program Manager

I ran away from the office for a month this summer, enjoying a whirlwind time across the pond. My husband, Joe, and I cruised the Rhine River from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam in celebration of our 30th anniversary. After multiple stops in France and Germany, we extended our trip for a few days in the Netherlands. This photo was taken in the Little Venice neighborhood of Colmar, France.
After returning to reality and the office, the excitement of a new semester set in. Can we top seven consecutive record-breaking years? A look at the upcoming semester's curriculum tells me it's entirely possible.

This summer I worked for ILR and the Campus Services Center here at Miami. When I wasn't working, I spent my time with my family and going on adventures with friends. I went on many fun weekend trips to Cedar Point/Lake Erie and Chicago! I'm looking forward to the upcoming fall semester!
