What to know today:

The annual First Friday Parade, celebrating the opening weekend of the 2025 home football schedule, is set for this Friday, August 29. The parade will begin at 6:05 p.m. on Highway 93 at the Cherry Road intersection in front of the Hub at Douthit Hills and end at the Lower Intramural Field.

To continually improve the effectiveness of Clemson’s strategic operations and enhance alignment with the University’s strategic plan, the University is taking proactive steps to align key functions like strategic project and initiatives management and continuous improvement under the Office of Institutional Excellence, effective September 15.

Clemson Community Primary Care, home of the Joseph F. Sullivan Center on the first floor of Edwards Hall, provides quality health care with on-campus services accessible to Clemson faculty, staff and their families.

John Cummings, a principal lecturer in biological sciences, used funds from winning the Phil Prince Innovation in Teaching Award to purchase a range of high-tech tools available for any student to check out from Clemson Libraries, including a thermal imager, trail cameras and more.

In the past year, College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences researchers Cheng Sun, Daljit Singh Dhillon, Christopher Flathmann, Nianyi Li and Ming Yang (dubbed the "Fierce Five") have received three of the nation’s top awards for early-career researchers.

This month, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services Birma Gainor discusses creating a plan for self-care and available resources for faculty and staff.

The Nook and the Paw Pantry are holding a “Just Jelly” food drive to complement the 5,000 jars of peanut butter donated by Skippy's. Faculty and staff can drop off jelly and other non-perishable items at either location or email The Nook to arrange a pickup.
