We have made it through to the end of the fall semester successfully, thanks to your collective commitment to keeping one another safe. Thank you for following the guidelines, getting tested as necessary, wearing masks and encouraging one another along the way. The entire SUNY Oneonta community has done an admirable job keeping case numbers low and helping the college return to our comprehensive in-person collegiate experience.
As outlined last week, we plan to follow many of the same procedures for the Spring 2022 semester that were in place this fall. Initial spring pre-arrival/re-entry requirements for students have been posted on the COVID-19 webpage, and updated plans for campus operations will be shared via email and posted online by the end of December. Please also remember to get a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you are eligible.
Given the scope of the work that the COVID Response Team manages, a third co-chair has been appointed to the group. Interim Vice President for Student Development Bernadette Tiapo will take on the role of the additional co-chair, effective immediately.
Even with the return to somewhat normal activities, we know that this semester was not easy. The typical end-of-semester fatigue is compounded by prolonged adjustments in our lives due to COVID. We hope you are able to reflect on your accomplishments, rest and reenergize during time off over the next few weeks. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Alberto J.F. Cardelle, President
Julie Piscitello, Vice President for Finance and Administration, CRT Co-Chair
Richard Lee, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, CRT Co-Chair
