Yesterday, New York City’s Health Department raised the
COVID-19 Alert Level to yellow, or medium, in response to data showing increased risk of transmission in New York City.
What does this mean for our community?
Because we did not fully lift our on-campus mask-mandate and
NYU continues to require mask-wearing in key settings, we don’t plan on any changes in our protocols at the moment. However, we are monitoring the situation very closely and, if conditions warrant, we are prepared to resume restrictions we previously lifted.
This is a moment for more vigilance; we’ve noticed, for instance, that compliance with mask-wearing seems to have slipped. Some important tips/reminders:
