Building Memories at the Annual Pharmacy Picnic |
In late September, students, faculty and staff came together at Oak Mountain State Park for the annual pharmacy school picnic — a beloved tradition that strengthens community and celebrates one of our core values: building strong relationships.
This year’s event also marked a warm welcome to first-year students and featured the always-anticipated Bumgarner Cup competition. Congratulations to the P3s, Class of 2027, for taking home the trophy.

Megan Heath, a clinical pharmacy specialist at DCH Health System in Tuscaloosa, equips students in the emergency department with real-world experience in trauma cases, codes and critical care decisions.
“The most rewarding part is watching students grow in confidence week to week, connecting knowledge to patient care — and maybe even discovering a passion for emergency medicine,” Heath said.
Thank you, Dr. Heath, for investing in the next generation of pharmacy leaders.
