"Economic Bifurcation and Chaos" provides a unified presentation of the contributions to the literature on economic bifurcation, nonlinear dynamics, and chaos. The span of the research begins in 1988 with Barnett's initial finding of chaos in economic data. The research covered extends over three decades to his recent findings of Shilnikov chaos in New Keynesian models of the UK and US economies. Congratulations, William!

"This book is the deepest exploration yet... It gives an important warning against naïve empirical macro modelling that ignores intrinsic instability in making its policy forecasts... This research imposes a new level of rigor on the field of macroeconomics that serves to make it more credible."

Early Career Faculty Foundations 1.0
Building Campus Connections: Design and Support for Academic Success
Feb. 13, 201 Summerfield Hall, Free - Registration Required
The Office of Faculty Affairs invites all new faculty to our Early Career Faculty Foundations 1.0 event: Building Campus Connections: Design and Support for Academic Success. Our Early Career Faculty Foundations 1.0 are designed with first-year faculty in mind, but are open to all faculty within their first several years at KU, with relevant topics geared towards all New Faculty experiences. The Early Career Faculty Foundations series offers opportunities to learn about relevant and timely topics as they intersect with the faculty role, as well as time to connect with New Faculty peers over light refreshments.
Collaborative Research Luncheons
Collaborative Research Luncheons welcome faculty, across all ranks, across all schools, from the curious to the novice to the expert. By bringing together individuals with diverse research experience often dispersed across disciplines, schools, and positions, our aim is to expand professional networks and open new pathways to excellence in research that transcend the traditional silos of academic thought, foster interdisciplinary connection and jump-start novel collaborations. Learn more about this semester's topics and dates.
