Happy National Volunteer Week!
National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 and is a time to "shine a light on the people and causes that inspire us to serve" (Points of Light). So we dedicate this issue to celebrating the many ways volunteers impact our community. Volunteering may not look the same as it did before, but we are so glad to welcome volunteers back into our homes after two very long years!

Employee Spotlight: Sylvia Marshall, Laundry Aide and Community Volunteer

When you encounter Sylvia Marshall, she’s usually in the middle of doing something to help or serve someone in some meaningful way.

“We’re here to serve,” Sylvia said. “That’s the way I was raised.”

Resident Volunteers
A.G. Rhodes residents stay active by volunteering their time and talents. They contribute to their own community by passing out mail, writing birthday cards to fellow residents, volunteering as a community store clerk, and helping hand out snacks. But they especially love being able to give back in other ways like assembling hygiene kits or crocheting afghans for local shelters.
Staff Volunteers
A.G. Rhodes Care Partners have not only dedicated their careers to caring for our residents; they volunteer their time to caring for others in our community. It is this spirit of giving back that helps promote a culture of compassion and generosity.
Volunteer Partnerships
An important component of life in a nursing home is volunteer support and partnership opportunities that keep elders connected with the community.
