Chargers for life: UAH unveils new vision for alumni relations |
UAH is rolling out a bold new vision for alumni engagement, unveiling expanded programs, refreshed leadership and stronger connections for more than 52,000 Chargers worldwide. With Alumni Relations now aligned under Strategic Communications, the university is elevating how it informs, celebrates and involves its graduates.
“Our goal is to strengthen engagement and ensure every Charger feels part of the UAH story — no matter where they are,” says Kelly Myers, director of Alumni Relations and Special Events.

SportsMED makes $1.3M pledge to UAH to name Spragins Hall gymnasium the SportsMED Arena |
Spragins Hall gymnasium has a new name — and a new home court advantage. Thanks to a $1.3 million pledge from SportsMED Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C., the facility will now be known as the SportsMED Arena.
“UAH continues to push the boundaries of research, athletics and academic excellence, and we’re proud to support an organization that’s driving growth and opportunity in North Alabama,” said Kelsey Siniard, SportsMED Director of Business Development.

UAH advances major campus projects: cybersecurity center and track and field complex |
Two transformative projects are underway at UAH that will elevate academics and athletics alike. The renovation of the Bevill Center will create the Center for Cybersecurity Research, Education & Advanced Training, while the new Track and Field Complex gives Chargers their first on-campus track and NCAA-compliant facilities.
“These projects represent significant investments in UAH’s future and reaffirm our commitment to advancing both academic excellence and the student experience,” said UAH Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Kristy Lee. “The new Center for Cybersecurity will strengthen UAH’s position as a national leader in cyber research, while the Track and Field Complex will enrich campus life and elevate our athletics program.”

UAH wins grant from Titomic to pioneer high-speed cold-spray repair tech |
Two UAH researchers are teaming up with Titomic, Ltd. to design and fabricate an advanced cold-spray tool that uses high-speed particles — rather than heat — to fix damaged parts. This groundbreaking approach has the potential to reshape repair practices in aerospace and beyond.

The Fall 2025 Commencement ceremonies will be held Monday, Dec. 15, 2025 at the Von Braun Center Propst Arena in downtown Huntsville. Degrees for all summer and fall 2025 graduates will be awarded during two ceremonies: The morning ceremony will take place at 10 a.m.; the afternoon ceremony will take place at 2 p.m.

UAH will host the 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Breakfast on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at 7:30 a.m. The theme, “Shaping the Healthcare Community of the Future,” will explore Dr. King’s timeless leadership principles and highlight those in our community working to build a healthier, more equitable tomorrow.
The event will feature Catherine Coleman Flowers, founding director of the Center for Rural Enterprise and Environmental Justice (CREEJ), as keynote speaker.
