On August 6, GW Dermatology partnered with Neutrogena and Aveeno (Kenvue) to host Lab to Label . The full-day program brought together dermatologists, scientists, and communications experts to explore how skincare science translates into real-world clinical practice and consumer products.
Highlights included:
- Dr. Adam Friedman opened with a look at skin structure and function, setting the stage for the day.
- Sessions on cleansing, moisturizers, and active ingredients (hydroxy acids, retinoids, peptides, antioxidants) from Dr. Kavita Mariwalla and Dr. Heather Woolery-Lloyd, followed by a hands-on formulation workshop with Kenvue scientists Navya Mudya and Rabab Hussain.
- A deep dive into preclinical/clinical testing methods and OTC regulatory claims, also led by Rabab Hussain.
- Practical, product-focused talks on acne and dyspigmentation from Dr. Hilary Baldwin, Dr. Cheri Frey, and Sofia Gomez Dopazo.
- An afternoon session on photobiology and sun filters from Marina Teles Sutija, followed by a media engagement panel with Dr. Friedman, Jeff Gygax, and Yun Yu.
- The day closed with a faculty fishbowl discussion on setting realistic patient expectations, along with live demos with hydrocolloid dressings and UVA testing of currently available UV filters.
The program combined clinical education with practical, product-development insight — reflecting GW Dermatology's continued collaboration with industry partners to bridge lab research and patient-facing care.
