Hayek Center’s HERO program links business and international aid
Nine teams of students working on a variety of community service projects in the developing countries of Haiti and Dominica received a crash course in business and economics during the inaugural Hayek’s Excellence in Research and Outreach (HERO) program. After incorporating the knowledge they gained at boot camp, students reworked their plans and presented them again, vying for grant funding from the Hayek Center.

Students representing 10 colleges and universities learned about the impact of strategic brand communication during the second annual Erwin Center Summer Scholars program. MBA Online fall debut opens door for working professionals
About 100 online students are expected to begin their MBA journey in the first year of the MBA Online program, which begins this fall when the College of Business launches its completely remote degree program. Two years in the making, MBA Online will enable students to receive an MBA their way — entirely online, either in a real-time, interactive setting, or through specially designed coursework they can access as their schedules permit.

Mimaki USA places 3D color printer at Clemson’s Sonoco Institute
The full color commercial 3D printer produces photorealistic prototypes using inkjet technology and water-soluble support materials for quick and simple model-finishing. It can achieve more than 10 million colors using CMYK, white and clear inks. Clemson students will have the opportunity to learn about the 3D printing workflow and create detailed product and package samples.

Student team awarded for AI solution improving patient well-being
Artificial intelligence has the potential to improve one’s quality of life. Finding ways to bring that potential to fruition is the challenge. A team of management and information systems students was up to that challenge in a case study competition against 15 other universities, placing third in their quest for finding a solution to improve patient well-being through artificial intelligence.

Antonio Harrison recognized for establishing, leading Minority Business Student Association
Business management graduate Antonio Harrison '19 was honored at the 15th annual Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards in Greenville for his work to establish the Minority Business Student Association within the College of Business. Clemson University also recognized Antonio's leadership with the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Student Award.
Anastasia Thyroff receives Phil and Mary Bradley Award for Mentoring in Creative Inquiry
Assistant Professor of Marketing Anastasia Thyroff provides mentoring support to two long-running and productive creative inquiry projects. Her support led to Clemson’s first Corporate Creative Inquiry, a three-year exploration of the transfer of knowledge between generations of workers at the Siemens Corporation featured in Business Education Magazine.
Erica Walker Named a TeachingForward Fellow
In support of the academic goals of ClemsonForward, the University’s strategic plan, a new TeachingForward Fellows program has been created. Six faculty members, including Assistant Professor of Graphic Communications Erica Walker, have been selected as the inaugural group of fellows. Erica was chosen for her excellence in undergraduate teaching and demonstrated leadership with curriculum design and development.
