Arvada's Resident Rebate Program offers a rebate to offset City taxes for income qualified households. Eligible residents can receive $100 for the first person and $65 for each additional household member.

It’s almost back-to-school time, which means busier intersections around schools. Slow down and look for children and others at intersections.

Bikes and cars must yield to pedestrians at a crosswalk. Remind new drivers heading to school to keep their heads up and slow down at intersections to protect our community! Check out the HeadsUp Arvada webpage for more info. 

As a reminder, the City is now enforcing stricter rules for property maintenance, trash and snow removal, noise, and safety at short-term rental (STR) properties.

Additionally, the City has launched a new system for reporting issues with STRs in your neighborhood. If you have a concern, now you can just report it via the City's website, notifying the owner of the property right away. Learn more about the new rules on the Short-Term Rentals webpage.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 14, the west portion of the West Arvada Dog Park will temporarily close for approximately three weeks while the City completes ADA accessibility improvements. The east side of the dog park will remain open during construction.

Restoration work on W 72nd Ave. from Oak to Kipling – including water line replacement, Oak intersection improvements, sidewalk repairs, repaving, and more – is expected to begin as soon as late August. Work is expected to take 4 to 5 months.

Visit the W 72nd Ave. project page and sign up for the project email list to receive notifications about the project. This restoration work will improve the area while the City continues to evaluate options for a future road widening. 

Traffic signals are being installed at the intersection of 64th Ave. & Easley Rd. and 63rd Ave. & McIntyre Pkwy. Work is scheduled to begin at 64th & Easley as soon as Monday, Aug. 10. Single lane closures will be necessary near the work zone. Temporary full road closures may be necessary to complete installation. CDOT bridge repairs at Kipling and Garrison began on August 2, with overnight work, single lane, and shoulder closures. This project will include weekend closures of I-70 in September. During closures, interstate traffic will be diverted through the Kipling Street Interchange using the on- and off-ramps before returning to I-70.

Registration is now open for the Fall 2026 cohort of Civic Spark, running Thursday evenings (Sept. 3 to Oct. 22) in-person in central Jeffco (rotating locations). The program is a dynamic, hands-on training to equip Jefferson County residents with the skills, knowledge, and connections to become effective community champions for local issues including affordable housing, workforce development, and early childhood education.

The July 28 City Council meeting started with a special meeting for Council to discuss and review a motion on next steps in a pending ethics investigation. Then there was a workshop on 2027 Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Rates/Fees and on 2026 Arvada Human Services Grant Recommendations. Watch the full recorded meeting on YouTube. 

The Aug. 4 Council meeting was canceled for National Night Out. The next meeting on Aug. 11 will be a study session and workshop, and the next business meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18. Agendas are available by 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to Council meetings.
