Hands of Friendship Submitted by: Charlize Averbeck
On Monday, May 12th, Hands of Friendship 4-H held their monthly meeting. Memphis Averbeck led with the pledges. Reiley did a wonderful job talking about her love for skating and showed us a few of her skills. Kylee talked about the monarch butterfly, and in the past few years, she even raised some of her own! Lastly, Axel talked about his favorite Pokémon, Pikachu!

A Special Final Drive?
Join us for A Special Final Drive at the 2025 Fond du Lac County Fair! A Special Final Drive participants will have the opportunity to experience showing a pig!
Who: Market Livestock Exhibitors interested in mentoring an individual with an intellectual or physical disability to show a pig
When: Saturday, July 19, 2025
Arrival: 4:45 pm - Workshop - How to Mentor an Individual with Special Needs
Timeline:
5:10 pm- Mentors, Pigs and Participants Meet and Greet
5:15 pm- Mentor youth and dinner
6:15 pm- Group picture (All participants and mentors)
6:30 pm- A Special Final Drive

New Member Fair OrientationTo help new families understand this process better, a new family fair orientation will be held on Wednesday, June 4 at 5:45 pm at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. Topics covered are: entering projects at the fair, important dates to remember, how judging works at the fair, and answering any questions families may still have. There will also be a short tour of the fairgrounds to help first-year families know where things are judged and what to expect. Karen Albert, a fair board member and 4-H volunteer, will be leading this orientation. Please Register by Friday, May 30, 2025.

Exciting STEM Adventure Awaits: Help Shape the Tri-County Science Expedition!
We need your help! The first annual Tri-County Science Expedition Field Trip to UW–Madison is set to give 4-H youth an unforgettable day of hands-on science exploration. Youth from Fond du Lac, Ozaukee, and Washington counties will come together for an immersive experience featuring workshops, tours, and demonstrations in fields like astronomy, biology, geology, engineering, and sustainability.
Participants will visit cutting-edge research labs, vibrant greenhouses, and fascinating museums, engaging directly with scientists and researchers. This in-person opportunity offers a unique glimpse into college life while sparking curiosity in future STEM careers through interactive, age-appropriate activities.
To make this event as impactful as possible, we need your feedback! Let us know what topics, activities, or experiences would be most exciting for your young scientist. 4-H Graduation
Save the date - Sunday, July 20, 2025
Please register for the 2025 Graduation! Graduation will be celebrated at 2pm on the Sunday of the Fond du Lac County Fair on stage in the Expo building. To have an accurate program and materials, we ask you fill out the survey. Thanks!
