County Fair Updates

Prefair Judging

Prefair judging is from 1 - 7 pm on Thursday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 13. New this year, it will take place in the Expo Building. Similar to last year, you will sign up for a time to get judged. This can be done at the Fair Office when you pick up tags or by contacting the Fair Office after it opens on June 7. Office contact information is as follows:  920.929.3168 or office@fonddulaccountyfair.com.

Help Needed

Clerks are needed for prefair judging on July 8 and 13, as well as for the animal shows being held during the fair. Interested individuals, 12 yrs. and older, should contact the Fair Office. Shifts can be split up or shared. Exhibitors who are clerking will be allowed time to have their own items judged. If you are in need of community service hours this summer, this would be a great opportunity!

Parkers: Are you part of a group looking to make a little money for your organization?  The FDL County Fair needs parkers throughout the duration of their event. Adult supervisors earn $10/hr., while parkers earn $7/hr. If you are interested or would like more information, contact Pat Immel at pcimmel@gmail.com.

Contest

Looking for a summer art project? Do you have an old pallet laying around that could be upcycled? The Pallet Contest is coming back to the fair this year. Follow this link to find more information on how you can enter. Print an Entry Form today!

Fond du Lac County Market Livestock Updates

Swine PRRS Testing/Health Certificates
The Fond du Lac County Market Swine Show is a non-terminal show.
  • 2nd hogs can return home from the fair
  • Exhibitors will be responsible for making their own butchering/processing appointments for the 2nd hog and ship the hog to the appointment themselves. Sale hogs will be shipped by the Market Livestock Project Committee. Make sure to have your appointments made as soon as possible.
  • In addition to health certificates being required within 30 days of the fair, exhibitors are required to have a negative PRRS test within 90 days of county fair. This test is done through your large animal veterinary clinic. Contact your veterinarian for details and instructions for the PRRS test.

Prohibited Use of Ractopamine (i.e. Paylean) in Swine

“The Fond du Lac County fair has prohibited our exhibitors from feeding their animals feed containing Ractopamine. Animals exhibited at the fair are subject to random testing for presence of this additive. Should it be discovered after the sale when the animal is processed that the animal has been fed with feed containing Ractopamine, the exhibitor will be required to make the buyer whole for any loss incurred due to the animal being rejected for processing at the processing plant/slaughterhouse. Should an animal test positive for Ractopamine, the exhibitor will be prohibited from selling at the fair for a year."
