TEACHING TIPS
This section is full of timely and evidence-based practices to apply in your teaching

|
Following the 2024 election, students may express a range of emotions regarding the results. These emotions are likely to still be present in our learning spaces for weeks to come. Students may begin asking you questions about the election outcome, the potential impact on our community and campus, or, even, your personal beliefs. These questions can be difficult and may require additional preparation before you respond. Here are a few resources that may be helpful as you navigate the next few weeks:
-
The UTLC has added a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section to our Teaching During and Post Election blog. The FAQ’s offer potential approaches and responses that may help you as you navigate the next few weeks with a neutral but caring perspective.
-
Connecting students with campus resources that can support them as they navigate the election outcome:
-
Members of the campus community can use the Bias Report Form and Concerning Behavior Report to report non-emergency incidents so that university resources can respond appropriately depending on the situation. These forms connect directly with campus support structures (e.g. the Dean of Students, Counseling & Psychological Services, and Campus Police), allowing for quick and coordinated efforts to support our campus and students.
- Review UNCG's Political Activities Guidelines

| Final Opportunity to Complete Teaching with Generative AI Faculty Needs Assessment
|
The emergence and proliferation of Generative AI tools has impacted higher education in a myriad of ways. This anonymous survey aims to understand UNCG instructors' current use, knowledge, understanding, and attitudes toward Generative AI. Responses will inform strategies for supporting faculty with resources and professional development related to Generative AI in teaching and learning. Please complete this short survey (5-10 minutes) by Friday, November 15 to provide your insights and feedback so that we can improve the support available to instructors at UNCG to ultimately enhance student success!
