International Flag Ceremony, Wednesday |

This year, Walsh University proudly welcomes students from three new countries—Botswana, Kazakhstan, and Zimbabwe—highlighting the rich diversity of our campus. Join us in celebrating global unity at the International Flag Ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Barrette Business & Community Center. In this Year of Community, we honor our 150 international students representing 35 countries. Enjoy desserts prepared by students, live performances from the Walsh University Chorale and World Music Ensemble, and entertainment from our international students. Come together to celebrate the vibrant global perspectives that make our Walsh family unique!

Explore Student and Faculty Research at ACES, Thursday |
Join us for the Academic Celebration of Excellence Symposium (ACES) on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Toot Global Learning Center. This engaging event highlights the impressive research, scholarship, and projects of Walsh University’s students and faculty. Posters and oral presentations will fill the space, creating a vibrant atmosphere for learning and discussion. We encourage everyone in the Walsh community to attend, explore, and support this showcase of talent. Help stock the Cavs Cave, Walsh University’s free food and hygiene pantry for students facing financial challenges. From Nov. 13 to Dec. 20, donation boxes will be placed in buildings across campus to collect non-perishable food, hygiene products, and small household items. 'Tis the season to sing, and we need YOU to help fill the air with holiday joy at Walsh University’s Annual Alumni Breakfast/Brunch with Santa event on Sunday, Dec. 8! We’re looking for carolers (Students, Faculty, and Staff) to join us in spreading Christmas cheer as we welcome 125 alumni and their families for a day of faith, fun, and festive celebration. Winners of Friday's Pickleball Tournament Will Compete in Pickle in the Land

Walsh University is hosting a Pickleball Tournament open to all students, faculty, and staff. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a first-time player, come out for some fun and friendly competition. You can compete solo or bring a partner—we'll match you up if needed! The best part? The top 2 men and women will earn a spot to represent Walsh at the Pickle In The Land Tournament in at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Dec. 13-15. In the final homestand of the season, Grad Student, Sydney Dixon, became the first player in Walsh Volleyball history to record 1,000 digs and 1,000 kills in her career! Congratulations, Sydney!

This Spring, join Sister Mary Clare Smith for THEO 408B: Catholic Neurotheology, an engaging seminar that delves into the intersection of Catholic beliefs and brain science. Guided by Sister Mary Clare, co-author of the course textbook, you will explore how foundational Catholic teachings, rituals, and spiritual experiences connect with neuroscience. This unique course invites you to deepen your understanding of faith through the lens of science. Classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-4:00 PM, Jan. 6 through March 1, in Aultman Room 008.

Walsh University Selected as IMAP Training Provider to Enhance Workforce Development in Ohio |
Walsh University has been selected as one of 16 training providers for Ohio’s Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP), announced by Lt. Governor Jon Husted, Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation. Supported by $7.1 million in state funding, this program offers Ohioans the opportunity to earn in-demand, technology-focused credentials at no cost, helping to strengthen the local workforce. Walsh University received $498,000 to provide training in five high-demand areas: Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, Information Technology, Manufacturing Technology, FAA Drone Technology UAS, and HVAC Diagnostics (ILT). This funding will allow Walsh to build on its success with programs for unemployed individuals and expand offerings to high school students. Read More

Congratulations to all of the recipients of the Walsh University Women’s Committee Scholarships. For more than 50 years, the Women’s Committee has been working hard to raise funds to support Walsh University students and to help change lives. We are forever grateful.
|
On Nov. 16, a group of Walsh students participated in Service Saturday by donating their time with Bags with a Blessing. This non-profit organization is dedicated to enhancing the lives of those facing economic hardship by gifting those high-quality bags filled with essential items and heartfelt blessings. We helped by filling bags to support their goal of almost 1,000 bags that will be distributed to those in need, and to survivors of Hurricane Helene.

Thank you to everyone who made the Professional Etiquette Dinner event a success! Sophomores through graduate students enjoyed a unique dining experience, honing interpersonal communication, networking, and social etiquette skills. The evening featured a three-course meal and expert advice from Walsh University alumni, including David Shaffer ’08 (Edward Jones), Steve Weigand ’10 (PNC Erieview Capital), Kathie Gray (Not For Sale), and Lisa Hallaman (Walsh University). Etiquette expert Nancy McCauley provided valuable training on formal dining, while post-dinner tips helped attendees learn how to stand out as polished professionals. We are grateful for all who participated!
