From the Camp Director,

Happy New Year! As we enter this year with optimism about the things which lie ahead, as well as the knowledge our Lord will lead and guide us, we also realize there will be moments of great challenge as we move forward.

One reason I enjoy the Word of God is that it doesn’t “sugar coat ” the facts. While you and I appreciate the great victories in our lives, we must always remember that a victory is not really a victory without a battle!

I have always been inspired by the words of Caleb of “Joshua and Caleb fame” in the Word as they were poised to enter the Promised Land after wandering with the unbelieving people for 40 years in the wilderness. He didn’t allow their unbelief and failure deter him from the promises of God, and the defeats of the past weren’t going to affect his faith about the future!

If you have a few moments read the following scripture and take a moment to compare it to what’s behind and what lies ahead. Joshua 14:10-12.

Those words “…give me this mountain” are powerful words to read! The New Year might seem like a mountain, but with God walking with us and available to us, the victories that lie ahead are many!

Starting thie vision process for 2020

We are really lookin g forward to what lies ahead and please be in prayer for us for 2018.

Registration for summer camp starts January 15, 2018. Church packets are being mailed out, they have the code for discounts. Contact your church for the church code. The camp cannot give out the church code. Please contact your church for that discount code.

Winter Retreats:

We have winter retreats for High-School, Jr. High and Elementary. Along with Men's Retreat & Women's Retreat. All retreats have an early date for registration and a late date. Plan to sign up early and save. We will need everyone to register online for these retreats. All information about each retreat is listed on our website.

Chapel Update: We Need Volunteers!

Progress is being made. We are needing some help finishing the electrical and then we will be ready for drywall. If you or your church would like to schedule some time to help with the chapel please let Tom know at tomlloyd@hangingrock.org. We want to thank some guys from the Brady Lane Church for coming and helping.

Congratulations:

On January 6th Drake Burger and Kelly Mcguire wil be getting married and moving to Hanging Rock to start their ministry service here. We are very excited to have them as part of this ministry. Drake will be serving as our Associate Director, helping oversee summer camp, marketing and much much more! Kelly did an incredible job as our first aid attendant this past summer and we are looking to keep her involved in the camp in many ways! They will be moving into one of our appartments. We are going to be remodeling and expanding to make it bigger for them. We are in need of some volunrteers that would like to help. We are adding them a kitchen and dining room area. If you can help with this project please contact Drake at drakeburger@hangingrock.org.
