We are excited to launch the Everyday Excellence Recognition Program designed to highlight A&F staff who go above and beyond in their daily work. This program celebrates the meaningful contributions that reflect Georgia Tech’s values – whether through excellent service, collaboration, innovation, or actions that make a lasting, positive impact on our community.
Nominations will be reviewed by the A&F Staff Culture Advisory Council, and honorees will be recognized at upcoming A&F Connects events and featured in the A&F News.

Georgia Tech Prepares for Potential Federal Government Shutdown
|
The U.S. government is approaching its Tuesday, Sept. 30, deadline to reach an agreement on federal spending for the new fiscal year, which begins on Oct. 1. If an agreement is not reached by this deadline, it will result in a federal government shutdown, which will affect many programs, including the federal contracting work performed by Georgia Tech.

New Online Zero Waste Hub Provides Updated Guidance for Campus Recycling, Reuse, and Compost |
The Georgia Tech Zero Waste Resource Hub, developed by the Office of Sustainability, a department within Infrastructure and Sustainability, provides an easy-to-use online platform that helps the campus community navigate locations and resources for diverting waste from the landfill. By bringing these services together in one place, the hub supports Georgia Tech’s goal of advancing zero waste practices throughout the campus community.

| Flu Shots Available On Campus |
Employees can get a flu shot at the Stamps Health Services Pharmacy as walk-in patients during business hours Monday – Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also call the Stamps Health Services Pharmacy at 404-894-1430 (option 5) to schedule an appointment.

| Open Enrollment Begins Oct. 27 |
This is an active enrollment year which means you are required to take action if you want healthcare coverage for 2026. Choose from an array of benefits and programs for 2026, and be sure to enroll by Friday, Nov. 7.

October Events Celebrate Campus Sustainability Month |
October is Campus Sustainability Month, an international celebration of sustainability on college and university campuses. Georgia Tech will host sustainability-focused events throughout the month. Multiple campus groups will host events showcasing their unique offerings which will provide a glimpse into the wide-ranging commitment to sustainability at Tech.

| The Southeastern Cyber Cup Returns |
The Office of Information Technology at Georgia Tech will host the 2025 Southeastern Cyber Cup, a virtual hackathon competition for participants with interests in IT and cybersecurity. Registration is open to students and professionals at any higher education institution in Georgia.

Application Period Begins Soon for Educational Assistance Programs |
Eligible full-time faculty and staff are encouraged to apply for education assistance through the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and the Staff Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Program (STRAP). These programs are designed to support your professional development and help you achieve your educational goals by providing tuition and mandatory fee waivers or reimbursements.
The application period for the spring semester is Oct. 15 – Nov. 15.

| Georgia Tech Secures Multiple No. 1 Rankings |
Georgia Tech continues its upward trajectory in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2026 rankings, released Sept. 23. The Institute moved up to No. 32 among national universities, improving one spot from last year and tying with institutions such as New York University and University of California, Davis. Among top public national universities, Georgia Tech held steady at No. 9, and it achieved No. 1 rankings across several categories.

| Georgia Tech’s Big Bets Delivering Record Results |
During his 2025 Institute Address in the Walter G. Ehmer Theater, President Ángel Cabrera revealed that record enrollment, campaign fundraising, and research expenditures have positioned Georgia Tech ahead of schedule on the plan that runs through 2030.
