My role as MyEO Chair is to help encourage and facilitate intimate, member-led experiences for small groups of EOers. Whether that's 10 members jet skiing around Manhattan, 6 members meeting for lunch to discuss eldercare, 9 members going hiking in the Catskills, 5 members learning the dos and don'ts of sushi, 11 members discussing mental health over breakfast, or 12 members bearing their hearts on selling their businesses over dinner, my intention is to help EONY members create as many of these experiences as possible.
I joined EO while living in Louisville, KY and thought it was just okay, since the closest chapter was two hours away. Things really took off after I moved to NYC in 2016. EO became my home through which I met new friends/colleagues who showed me the ropes of NYC, which was especially valuable since I pretty much knew no one upon moving here.
Fast forward a couple years and I've been fortunate to host EOers from all over the world for amazing, gut-wrenching, fun, enlightening, emotional conversations and experiences. I've traveled to Cuba, Canada, and all over Europe with EOers from other chapters, oftentimes not having met them until I landed. If anyone reading this hasn't met up with EOers from other chapters, inside or outside the US, I'd highly encourage it.
If you're reading this and want to help host a member-led event, please email me! I'd love to chat more:
