Reflection by Diane Bednar
Prepare for our Guest, Emmanuel.
Prepare. Pray. Contemplate. Make safe a holy place for the baby, Emmanuel! This is a season of waiting and glorious anticipation of a King, God’s holy Son who will fulfill our Father’s promise to heal His people. We are invited to come close and get to know Him well.
For on a holy night coming soon, a baby will be born, a King, born as Mary’s baby boy. A Divine King! God in a humble manger comes to us requiring protection and a safe place to dwell among us. Emmanuel: God is with us! We, like the shepherds, want to come close and get to know Him well.
Come, let us prepare a dwelling worthy of the baby, our King Emmanuel. Invite Him in. Welcome Him to stay. Thank Him for coming. Let us hasten our preparations for Emmanuel so that we truly will come to know Him well.
