UNIVERSITY NEWS
Teresa Kuo, of Cabot, a May graduate of the Early Childhood and Special Education program, has been selected for a 2022–23 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant award to Taiwan. She is IUP’s 19th student Fulbright recipient since 1968.
Yu-ju Kuo, Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, has been named a 2022–23 Fulbright US Scholar to Bhutan and will teach for 10 months at Sherubtse College. Since 1951, 75 faculty and staff members have earned Fulbright scholarships.
ACHIEVEMENTS
James Hoyland, Criminal Justice Training Center, has been named the state’s Sergeant Mike Hayes School Resource Officer of the Year for 2022. A corporal in the New Castle Police Department, he is the school resource officer for the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center and head of the Laurel School District Police Department.
