Romans 8:33-34
Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.  Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
New International Version (NIV)
Our son Chase and I share a mutual love for the classic tale of Edmond Dantes in the Count of Monte Cristo.  Dumas tells how  Edmond is falsely accused, imprisoned and beaten, while his adversary and former friend marries Dantes’s love.  The story has a painful beginning leaving the reader feeling a bit hopeless.
Have you ever been falsely accused or wrongly charged?  In our day of rapid communication, a lie makes it all the way around the world before the truth even puts on its shoes.  Do not fear being falsely charged if you have been faithfully chosen!
Paul reminds Christians that our Advocate is greater than our adversary!    Satan, the force of evil in our world is called the “adversary” and the “accuser.”  He loves to accuse God’s people.  He is no one really!  Our Advocate Jesus Christ died for our sins, arose on the third day and intercedes for right now at the right hand of God.  With perfect and constant access to the Father, Jesus exercises all the power of heaven as your Advocate.  Your adversary does not stand a chance against him.
Pray with me:
Father, help us to rest our elbows on the windowsill of heaven so that we may see clearly the reality of your advocacy in our lives.  Maker of our souls, remind us that we are chosen in Christ.  Show us our Savior seated at your right hand interceding for us.  Let us live with all the confidence of those who belong to you.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
