Revelation 15:2-4
2 And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by God 3 and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb:
“Great and marvelous are your deeds,
    Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
    King of the nations.
4 Who will not fear you, Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
    and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

New International Version (NIV)
Can you play an instrument?  I listened to my friend Travis play “This is my Father’s World,” on his Clarinet, Sunday in worship.  I wish I could play an instrument.   Melanie taught me and one of our sons to play a little tune on the piano some years ago.  But I have forgotten what she taught me.  I can’t play any instrument, but someday I will.
There are so many songs in heaven.   John heard a group of people singing a song of victory after they overcame the forces of evil.  Every song we have seen in this book of Revelation focuses on God.  In heaven, they sing that God is “holy, holy, holy.”  “Worthy is the Lamb,” is another favorite.  This song reaches back to Moses’ victory over the forces of Pharaoh at the Red Sea.  God has won again!
We win in the end.  Let the song of heaven give us our words of praise today:  God is great and marvelous, just and true.  He is to be held in reverence.  Our God is glorious and holy, worthy of worship.  Some day all the nations will worship our God.  We will be given harps to play the song of praise!  Why not get a head start today?  Even if we can’t play an instrument, we all have the instruments of our voices.  Our God can do anything but fail.  Join the song.  “Victory in Jesus, our Savior forever.  He sought us and bought us with his redeeming blood.”
Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, you alone are holy.  You are high and lifted up.  We praise you today for the great victory you won on the cross.  Thank you for the promise of victory in Christ.  Help us to become living doxologies speaking and singing your praise today, everywhere we go.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.
Our 2023 Every Day with Jesus readings are taken from Robert Murray M'Cheyne's Bible Reading Calendar. Copies of the reading plan are available at Tallowood Baptist Church, or download your copy here:
Please join us in reading through the scriptures again this year.  We will read the New Testament twice and the Old Testament once this year. M'Cheyne once said, “A man is who he is on his knees, and nothing more.”  Would you pray with me that God will make his word live to us this year?  Let’s not just get through the Bible.  Let it get through to us!

Joyfully,
Duane
