Ashley Blake, Drew Hodges and Meridee Ritzer have been named 2026 Goldwater Scholars, one of the nation’s most prestigious undergraduate awards in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Recognized for demonstrating exceptional promise as future research leaders, all three students plan to pursue doctoral degrees and continue on a path toward research careers.

Today, Charlie Blackwell-Thompson ’88, NASA’s first female launch director, will make history once more as the launch director for Artemis II. The mission will send four astronauts to fly around the moon — the first crew to do so since 1972. Learn more about her work from Clemson World.
