With Thanksgiving break approaching, here are a few reminders to help keep yourself, friends and loved ones healthy this holiday.
The COVID testing center in Morris Hall is open for testing before break. All students and employees are welcome to take advantage of the free testing if you would like to have a precautionary test before seeing family or friends.
Testing center hours before break:
- Sunday, Nov. 21, 1 - 8 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 22, 1 - 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 23, 9 a.m. - noon
Please use your best judgement when gathering with others over break. Protect yourself and others by wearing a mask in large groups and social situations, and get tested if you feel sick or have been exposed to someone who is positive for COVID.
If you begin to show symptoms over the break, get tested immediately. The Counseling, Health and Wellness Center will be closed from Nov. 24 - 28 but will resume normal operating hours on Monday, Nov. 29. Students, you should contact your primary care provider or get tested at a local pharmacy or testing site if you need a test while the Health Center is closed. Employees, you should schedule a test with your primary care provider or a local testing site if you begin to experience symptoms.
Everyone is also encouraged to participate in the on-campus surveillance testing upon your return to campus in case you came into contact with COVID and to prevent asymptomatic spread. The testing center will be closed Sunday, Nov. 28, but will be open for normal operating hours on Monday, Nov. 29, and Tuesday, Nov. 30.
After the break, there are just six days of class left in the semester. We encourage you to take time to rest and destress. Thank you for your commitment to keeping our community healthy and safe so far. Continuing to do so will ensure we have a successful end to the semester.
