Byers School of Nursing Acquires Two High-Fidelity Pediatric Simulators to Enhance Nursing Education

Walsh University’s Byers School of Nursing is delighted to announce the addition of two high-fidelity simulators, Margo and Francis, which will transform how nursing students prepare for real-world clinical scenarios.
Margo, an infant simulator, and Francis, a pediatric simulator, replicate the complexities of neonatal and pediatric care, offering hands-on experiences that prepare students for the challenges of modern healthcare. These state-of-the-art simulators are designed to mimic a wide range of physiological responses such as heart sounds, lung sounds, chest rise and fall, and even emotional cues like crying or cooing. | Read More

Cavalier Soirée Featured Auction Item: “May the Course Be with You” – Round of Golf at Tannenhauf Golf Club |
Join us Friday, May 16, at Hoover Park Dance Hall & Grounds for the Cavalier Soirée, an evening of fine dining, live entertainment, and exciting auctions—all in support of student success. Hosted by President Tim and Drenda Collins, this unforgettable night features a Prime Rib Carving Station, Bruschetta Chicken, handcrafted cocktails, and more. Dress in summer soirée attire!
This week’s featured auction item is a round of golf at the historic Tannenhauf Golf Club! Tee it up with a friend and enjoy 18 holes of golf. Start off with a scenic par 5 over water, then take on a diverse mix of three more par 5s, four par 3s, and ten par 4s across eighteen stunning holes. A cart is included, so relax and swing away!

Over the weekend, Drs. Jennifer Clevinger and Nina Rytwinski accompanied three Walsh University Honors students—Maggie Lewis, Alexander Oswald, and Ashli Snider—to the annual Mid-East Honors Association (MEHA) Conference. Drs. Clevinger and Rytwinski led a faculty session titled Innovative Approaches to Honors Program Leadership, while the students presented research based on their Honors Theses. Alex delivered an oral presentation, Bioinformatics Analysis of Genes Connected to Autism Spectrum, and Maggie presented The Molecular Sonification of Activin A Receptor Type 1 (ACVR1), featuring her original composition “Percussive Pathways: ACVR1 in Motion.” Ashli shared a historical poster presentation titled Back Down The Road: World War II in North Africa, 1942–1943. Congratulations to all three students on an impressive showing!
In a programming collaboration for senior members of the North Canton Public Library, Thomas Roblee created a musical performance and demonstration highlighting Mallet Percussion Through World Cultures on April 3, 2025. Teaming with percussion duo partner Drew Andreatta, the diverse and technical performance showcased differences in performance styles of music from a variety of cultures and time periods. Walsh University provides a program for seniors in the community on the second Tuesday of each month. If you have an idea for a program, please contact Hannah Nagy (hnagy@walsh.edu).
