Thursday: Come do Push-ups for Suicide Prevention for Veterans |
This Thursday, Sept. 14, from 11 am – 2 pm, on the West Lawn near the David Center, ALL are invited to join active-duty military members in doing 22 push-ups in cadence every hour, on the hour, for suicide prevention for veterans. Among those doing push-ups will be U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and Walsh Alum Joshua Ruiz ’21, our Veteran Affairs Coordinator, and Walsh University President Tim Collins, retired U.S. Air Force.
All are welcome to join in doing push-ups (including modified push-ups) and help raise awareness. According to VA (Veterans Affairs) Researchers, every single day, 22 veterans take their own lives. As shocking as that number is, the real number may be higher.
To show their support for such a worthy cause, our community partners at the Pro Football Hall of Fame have sponsored catering from the Winking Lizard for the first 250 people who try to do 22 push-ups. Read More
