Hey, Friends! If you can believe it, we are just 3 short weeks away from the start of the 2024-2025 school year! And thanks to your feedback (and incredibly kind words!) from the FriendsMail survey, the new school year also means a few new changes to our weekly newsletter. Firstly, we’re shifting to a mid-week email schedule. Class newsletters and Division updates will continue to send on Fridays, but FM all-school communications will now go out on Wednesdays. Other changes? A “Photo of the Week” spotlight and easier access to Parent Association updates at the beginning of the newsletter. You can also expect occasional Division Head reports, alongside "Time with Tony," and relevant-to-you articles about trends in education. Lastly (and this is a BIG one), our calendar platform has gotten a major facelift. Be sure to watch the tutorial video below to see what I mean. 

In the meantime, soak up these final moments of summertime sunshine. We can’t wait to see you back on campus soon!

We extend all of our love, light, and happiness to newlyweds Will & Eileen Lear! Eileen (Lozinsky) is our 2nd grade Lead Teacher and recently celebrated a truly spectacular wedding day on June 29th. And that gorgeous macaron cake they're cutting? It was made by none other than Lower School Academic Coordinator/5th Grade Lead Teacher Corrie Slay! Congratulations, sweet friends! What a beautiful day for two beautiful souls 🤍

I hope you all are enjoying the warm weather and finding time for relaxation and fun. As we soak in these summer days, I’m looking forward to reconnecting with each of you in the coming weeks. It's going to be an exceptional year ahead.

2024 PA Meeting Schedule

Volunteering with Good Shepherd 

Thanks to Audrey Hammond's efforts in partnering with Good Shepherd Center, we are part of their monthly volunteer schedule to assist in the kitchen with dinner preparations. We meet every third Thursday of month with Audrey or Tony as Leader, 1 faculty/staff member, 1 member of Wilmington Friends, and 2 FSW parents. Sign up HERE.

Type A friends, rejoice! Our online calendar has gotten a major update which now allows you to subscribe to relevant feeds, so events are automatically added to your preferred calendar app (e.g., iCal, Google Calendar, etc.). Watch the how-to tutorial video HERE.

With these new additions, we decided to streamline the printed parent calendar down to a one-pager with only the most relevant dates to you, like faculty/staff workdays and holidays. Click or scan the QR in the bottom lefthand corner and it will take you to the online calendar so you can always be in the loop. 

Yearbook Orders

Yearbook orders are still in transit (UGH, I KNOW!). Expect a happy update next week with a definitive arrival date. We deeply appreciate your patience (and trust me, I share in your frustrations).
