Hi All, It is hard to believe it is July, which is the middle of the summer and the start of summer fair season! Good luck to all of our 4-H members who are exhibiting and getting ready for neighborhood fairs and State Fair.
Heather, our 4-H Summer Intern, has several programs going on this month and early next month. Please make sure to check out opportunities for members to attend and help older youth develop their youth leadership skills.
Ellen, our 4-H Program Assistant is getting ready for the fair and we are still in need of volunteers there as well. Please check out those opportunities for helping at the fair. A few more spots and some help in the Youth Building will be a great!

YQCA Certificates
There are many youth YQCA certificates that are not showing up on the reports that fairs and shows utilize to verify youth participation. It is because many youth have not sent their certificates to the new YQCA platform to get them uploaded into the new YQCA system. Wisconsin State Fair will only accept certifications that show up in the YQCA system, thus if you haven’t done this, you must do this ASAP! In addition, there might be many other fairs and shows that won’t accept unless they show up on the reports. A paper copy might not be accepted. So to cover all bases it is best to get it uploaded into the YQCA system. You can do that by emailing your certificate to help@yqcaprogram.org. Please email them for any additional guidance. Once you have received notification that your information is the system, follow the directions at this link to set up your account and any other information related to printing certificates, etc.

Dodge County Pig Pal Spectacular Show Returns to the Dodge County Fair on Sunday, August 21, 2022
“Pig Pals” is a great leadership and learning opportunity for Junior Fair swine exhibitors. We partner youth and adults with different abilities, 7th grade and up through adulthood, with one of our senior swine mentors, and our swine youth experts teach their participant how to get ready and show their pig in the show ring. After working together as partners and learning about their pig, the new participant will walk and show their pig in the show ring.
We are welcoming our swine exhibitors, their families and swine leaders, to help make this show a success. We are looking for barn safety throughout prior to, during the show and in the holding rings, water “cooler” squirters and photographers throughout the event starting at 9:15 am and finishing show about 11:00 am. We are also looking for participants to join this fun event. If you know someone please have them fill out an application at the Extension Office or they can contact the Pig Pals committee to get one. Deadline to register is JULY 25, 2022
The show starts at 10:30 AM on Sunday, August 21st, and it would be great to have lots of people In our CHEER section, even if you are not in the Swine or Livestock projects!
This is a great leadership and learning opportunity you won’t want to miss!
Please email Mary Pat Boschert at billboschert@gmail.com or call or text her at 920-382-7943 If you want to volunteer for one of our fun jobs. And you’ll get a great Pig Pals t-shirt too for working!
