| Preview MUSE’s New Platform Design!
Project MUSE invites you to preview our newly redesigned platform by visiting our beta site. The beta is a work in progress and will run in parallel with our current site leading up to the formal release of the new site in mid-2018.
Among the exciting new features available in this preview are: - Content footnotes and references presented “in-line” with the associated text in articles and chapters
- Additional search facets for book series and thematic journal issues
- Personalized “My MUSE” accounts allowing users to save searches and create a custom library of MUSE materials
- Sample open access monographs, in browser-native HTML5, supporting richer linking and conversations around the content
Upon release of the new platform, over 300 additional OA (open access) monographs in HTML5 will be available. All of the OA books will be fully supported with MARC records, KBART files, and metadata distribution and linking, and will be preserved with support from PORTICO and LOCKSS. We welcome your comments and suggestions on the beta site prior to the release of the new site in mid-2018. Please use the Send us Feedback button to let us know what you think.

More Than 500 Open Access Books Available on Project MUSE
Over 500 books from distinguished university presses are now available on MUSE fully open access (OA). These books are freely available to libraries and users around the world.
Features of the OA books: - Search and browse using the same tools for all content on MUSE
- Included in search results with other MUSE content
- Require no login or registration for access
- Offered DRM-Free with unlimited downloading and printing
These titles have been made OA via a variety of mechanisms, including Knowledge Unlatched, grant-funded programs such as the NEH’s Humanities Open Book, and publishers’ partnerships with their university libraries or other campus entities. The complete list of the books along with free MARC records is found on the MUSE web site.
MUSE will also be working with discovery services to provide metadata for a package of MUSE Open Access titles so that they may be easily activated.
