New Parent Newsletter - June 2

To help keep newly enrolled families on track, we are pleased to share the fourth and final issue of the New Parent Newsletter, which includes important information about time-sensitive items. Going forward, you will begin receiving school-wide communications, including the June, July, and August editions of the Weekly Way newsletter, which are emailed to all current parents.

Previous issues of the newsletter and full details regarding the information below are available on the New Parent Page at
marist.com/newparent, which we will continue to update through the summer. Helpful information about school hours, carpool procedures, buying lunch, and the start of school has recently been added to the page for your convenience.
Final Report Cards Due to Admissions
The Admissions Office requires final report cards for all newly enrolled students. At this time, we have received information directly from the following schools: Cornerstone Christian Academy, Christ the King School, Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School, and St. Martin’s Episcopal School. If your child(ren)’s school is not on this list, please email a copy of your child(ren)’s final report card and/or spring standardized testing directly to admissions@marist.com by Friday, June 10. Thank you for your prompt attention.
Important June Communications
Within the next few weeks, parents of all new students will receive several important emails from various school departments. Please keep an eye on your inbox (and your junk/spam folders) for the following:
  • Peer Leaders: Parents will receive more information about their children’s peer groups and what to expect over the summer.

  • Marist.com Login: Parents will receive instructions to log in to the Marist website in order to access the resource board and school directory.

  • Course Placement: Parents will receive their children’s course placement information, including math and band/chorus for 7th graders.

  • PowerSchool Access: Parents will receive instructions to set up PowerSchool access. Marist uses PowerSchool to manage all information for courses, schedules, and grades. Your child’s student ID number and class registration list in PowerSchool will be necessary to purchase textbooks once the online bookstore opens July 18.
Laptop Pick Up for New Students
Dates: June 14, 15, and 16 (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday); if unable to attend, the next pick-up dates will be in August

Times: Drop in between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. (allow 30 minutes)

Location: The Marist Library located on the 2nd floor of Wooldridge Center

May a parent pick up the laptop? We will be setting up student email and other Marist accounts, so your child must be present.

What if we have questions after we pick up the laptop? Once your child picks up the laptop, he or she will have access to Marist email and should check it frequently for information about Technology Q&A sessions and other helpful tutorials.
