Student shares MSOCL knowledge through Technology Council

Kevin Mackie, alumnus of the Master of Science in Project Management program and a current Master of Science in Organizational Change Leadership student, began his career as a software engineer before moving into a leadership role. He is currently a Vice President of Product Development at CA Technologies, where he has a passion for building high performing teams who build great software. Mackie, who lives in the San Francisco Bay area, decided to earn his second master’s to grow as an effective change leader and help coach other leaders, but it all started with project management.

A 2014 study for the Harvard Business Review found that 79 percent of knowledge workers reported working with virtual teams. Being able to work with others no matter where they are located is an important business skill, and we include team projects in many of our University of Wisconsin -Platteville courses to provide students with this valuable experience. Focusing on professional development in the Career Corner

In a 2017 survey of students newly admitted to online programs at UW-Platteville, career advancement was the number one reason respondents cited for returning to school. Over half of the respondents indicated they were pursuing their degree to secure a new job, work toward a promotion, or gain professional development experience. In order to support these goals, UW-Platteville is pleased to offer two career-focused features, the Pioneer Career Network and Career Corner. Read more

Nov. 9 – Our Executive Director, Dawn Drake, is retiring. Students and alumni are invited to attend Dawn's retirement celebration from 3–6 p.m. in UW-Platteville's Nohr Gallery.  
Dec. 1 – Last day to register to attend commencement and have your name included in the ceremony program.
