On April 6, through a partnership with the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, Blackman High School hosted the county’s first “High School Hiring Fair,” for both Blackman and Holloway graduating students. In all, approximately 45 employers participated in the event, representing multiple industry sectors. In preparation for the event, the schools put countless hours into preparing students for the fair by speaking in senior English classes, teaching dress for success workshops, registering students on Jobs4TN and assisting with resume creation.
Positive Outcome: At least 30 seniors walked away from the event with a job offer and many more had follow-up interviews scheduled.
