Rutherford Works Promotes CTE Day on the Hill 

On February 12, 2019 representatives from Rutherford Works Industry Councils, Rutherford County Schools, TCAT Murfreesboro/Smyrna and the Rutherford County Commission visited with members of the Rutherford County delegation and other state leaders to ask for the continued support of Career & Technical Education in our public schools.  The group encouraged support for Governor Lee's GIVE legistation, support for the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate and funding to allow more high school students to sit for industry certifications.  (Pictured above from left to right: Brian Lewis, John Marshall, Rhonda Allen, Beth Duffield, Kevin Fehr, Chris West, Senator Shane Reeves, Regina Ward, Tyra Pilgrim, Dan Caldwell, Jon Mandrell, Gregg Peay)  

A Visit with the new Tennessee Commissioner for Labor & Workforce Development

Dr. Jeff McCord will visit the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce on March 22, 2019 from 9:00 - 10:30.  Please join us for this opportunity to hear from Commissioner McCord about the federally documented apprenticeships he helped to create at Northeast State Community College Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Kingsport and learn about his direction for the deparment.
