Match Day 2024
Congratulations to the fourth-year UofL School of Medicine students who matched into residency programs earlier this month! GLMS wishes you the best of luck in your new program, whether you’re staying in Louisville or moving somewhere else.
For those of you continuing your training in Louisville, we look forward to continuing to serve as your local medical society. Be on the lookout for an email next month from the Office of Graduate Medical Education to apply for In-Training membership and ensure that you continue to receive member benefits throughout your training.
Tomorrow, March 30, is National Doctors’ Day and we want to say thank you to our physicians for their continued dedication and passion for medicine. Your unwavering commitment to providing high-quality health care to the Greater Louisville community is so appreciated!

As GLMS President Dr. Patricia Purcell says, “Empowering others can contribute to a more compassionate relationship, a greater connection.” This month in Louisville Medicine, we’re looking at what our members in our community are doing to empower others in their work or home and the steps we can all take to be more intentional in those efforts. Read more here.
Dr. Who
While Dr. Sarah Todd often dreamed of a future in the WNBA as a child, she ultimately found her calling in gynecologic oncology, now with UofL Health. This native Louisvillian has a family full of physicians, but they also have something else in common – their family bluegrass band. Read more about Dr. Todd and the career that she calls “the highlight of my life” in this month’s Dr. Who.
Louisville Medicine upcoming themes:
May – due 4/1 – Annual Report
June – due 5/1 – President’s Introduction
These issues don’t have a theme – you’re encouraged to write on any topic you’d like!
