8th Grade Pathway Fairs

Our annual 8th-grade pathway fairs that highlight the career and technical education programs available to students at Rutherford County Schools launched October 22 at Eagleville School. In preparation for each pathway day, students selected four potential high school CTE programs they would like to explore based on their YouScience Aptitude Assessment results. On the day of the event, they attend an overview session and four pathway presentations that feature CTE students, teachers and industry partners to help them become familiar with the in-demand jobs that are available in our county. Students are also given information about the educational requirements, potential pay and potential educational costs associated with careers in their chosen industry sector.
This year we had the opportunity to add additional students to our program by combining two schools into one fair as eighth graders from Rocky Fork and Thurman Francis attended our second pathway fair of the season.
