One moment, Keith Vrbicky, MD’79, was in seemingly perfect health. The next, he was hooked up to a life-support system in the ICU, with his heart giving out (due to a rare, rapidly developing cardiovascular disorder) and other organs following suit. But thanks to a last-minute miracle, Dr. Vrbicky — a Norfolk OB/GYN who has delivered more than 13,000 babies over the past 40 years — is still here and still doing what he loves. Read more.

This month, Creighton dedicated the CL and Rachel Werner Center for Health Sciences Education — a 145,000-square-foot, five-story facility bringing future physicians, nurses, OTs, PTs, physician assistants and EMS technicians together to learn under one roof — with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Nearly 6,000 students, faculty, staff and visitors will use the building every year.
