We may be physically apart, but we don’t have to feel alone. Find your perfect volunteer opportunity through one of the ideas below, or visit Federation’s Jconnections to find your perfect volunteer opportunity.
• Friendship Circle
Nothing makes us feel better than spending time with friends. Explore the many ways you can volunteer to connect with a child with special needs, make new friends, and create lasting memories.
*CORRECTION: The 1/26 edition of Together & Connected mistakenly featured a volunteer opportunity with a Friendship Circle located outside of Greater Washington. We apologize for the oversight and any confusion this may have caused.
• HIAS Letter Writing
Join HIAS for a monthly program in which volunteers write letters of compassion and solidarity to people in immigration detention. Before the writing program, participate in a short learning session that reflects on issues facing refugees and asylum seekers. Participants must be 18 or older.
• Manna Food Drive
Drop off healthy and nonperishable food to the blue bin outside of Congregation Beth El in Maryland. The items will then be donated to Manna to combat food insecurity.
