2019 Most Read On the RoadsThis week we highlight the Institute's most read On the Road articles of 2019. The On the Road series offers a virtual guest pass to many leading healthcare institutions, sharing patient experience journeys from hospitals around the globe.

This On the Road took us to Sutter Health, a large integrated health system in Northern California with over 53,000 employees, 14,000 physicians and advanced practice clinicians, 24 hospitals, 2,000 ambulatory clinics and eight behavioral health centers.

This On the Road took us to the great city of Oakland, and specifically to Oakland Medical Center part of Kaiser Permanente and their community of healthcare services in the East Bay. This visit was a full and exciting example of what can happen with a collaborative and collective effort.

This article presented a profound opportunity for Jason Wolf, President and CEO ofThe Beryl Institute. Not only is St. Joseph’s Health and its flagship St. Joseph’s University Medical Center housed in one of the most diverse communities in the United States and grounded unequivocally in a purpose to serve others above all else, but it also has a very personal connection for Jason. St. Joseph’s was the place of his first patient experience, almost 50 years ago.
