Dear St. Michael’s Families,            

Our faculty and staff have been hard at work this week preparing to welcome our Dragons back to school. Along with academic planning, special faculty training was provided on our new safety, health, and hygiene protocols, new technologies and equipment, and more.

Classrooms may look different this year, but our faculty team is committed to making them vibrant, welcoming learning spaces.

(Reminder: The passcode to open the Morning and Afternoon cohort assignments is bluedragon.) We plan to send out additional information on Friday of this week regarding carpool procedures, carpool loops and door entry assignments, and other important information for our first week Back to School. We are less than a week away from opening our doors to in-person learning. And while that is a cause for celebration, we implore our school community to act in the days and months ahead with the greater good in mind.

We are hearing of end-of-summer and grade level celebrations being planned within our community which may be catalysts for gathering without distancing and masking. After months apart, we all crave interactions and yearn to be back together with our St M families and friends. However, if we all want our Dragons to be able to learn on campus together for as long as possible, we must all take individual steps and make the sacrifice of not loosening our behaviors when off-campus. Ensuring the health of our entire St. Michael’s community is a responsibility we all share and will require a commitment from each of us as we modify the way we live, learn, and work together.

Thank you for partnering with us to protect our school community and for adhering to good handwashing hygiene, masks, physical distancing, isolating/quarantining from others in case of suspected illness, and limiting social gatherings. This school year will be unlike any other, but the reward for embracing our shared responsibility will be great -- enabling us to safely return to our treasured academic community where all members can thrive.  

All parents will need to sign this "Parent Partnership and Agreement" form before their child(ren) will be permitted to begin classes on August 31. 

Thank you for your patience as the PowerSchool platform remedied some technical integration issues. Late last week we experienced a problem with parents not being able to access a verification email that was sent to them after they created their PowerSchool parent account. If you experienced this issue please go back to https://stmschool.powerschool.com/public.  Use the username and password you created to login.  You should get a message asking you to "resend" the PowerSchool verification email.  Click on "resend" and within a couple of minutes to an hour, you should receive an email from STMpowerschool@stmschool.net (see example below).  Click on the link within 24 hours and you will be able to access your parent account.

Parents will need to complete a MANDATORY Daily Health Screening for each child before campus entry. For the first few weeks of school, this will occur through this Google Form sent via text. (The health screenings will then migrate to our new Magnus Health web app once the app is finalized for rollout.)

Please note that if your child arrives on campus with a fever of 100º F or higher or other COVID-19 symptoms at our carpool temperature check stations, your child will not be allowed to exit the car and will need to return home.
