Lydall Performance Materials Looking to Expand Workforce in Volney

Lydall, a global performance materials manufacturer, ended 2020 on par with 2019, despite it being a challenging year.
Across their 39 facilities, including the plant in Volney, they make a variety of materials used by their customers to make finished products. The Volney facility specializes in gasket materials which are ultimately used for filtration or gasketing applications. Lydall was considered an essential business, as they provide materials to other businesses manufacturing essential products.
Due to the necessity of their products, Lydall expects to add up to 10 production positions over the first half of 2021.

Menter Ambulance Finds Larger Space in Oswego

Menter Ambulance's current Oswego facility no longer meets the needs for their growing business. As a result, Menter plans to more than double their space by moving to 6 Ohio Street, the former location of the Shapiro and Burritt car dealerships.
The new location will give them enough space for vehicles and equipment, while also providing a more comfortable space for the staff to relax in.
After moving into the new location, Menter plans to sell their former location on West Fourth Street.
Renovations are being overseen by Rowlee Construction.

Economic Impact Study of Snowmobiling in Tug Hill Region

Oswego County Tourism, Operation Oswego County, Lewis County IDA, Tug Hill Commission, Lewis County Chamber of Commerce, and Oneida County Tourism have teamed up with Camoin Associates and Jefferson Community College to conduct an economic impact study of snowmobile use in the Tug Hill Region. The purpose of collecting the information is to better understand the usage, needs and economic impact of snowmobile users in the region. The results will help demonstrate the importance of snowmobiling and the positive impact on the area. The information will be collected by students at Jefferson Community College.
Snowmobilers have the opportunity to take an online survey to share their experiences and enter for a chance to win $250 cash and additional Tug Hill prizes.
