Do you decide or do you dither? Dithering is more common than we might think. Problems in life may cause paralysis by analysis. Before long, we have spent so much time dithering that we might have already solved the issue if we had acted decisively.
Israel wonders why his sons even mentioned their little brother. They explained (again) that the lord of the land had loads of questions. In good faith, the brothers answered his questions about their father and family. Not knowing it was Joseph meant they couldn’t know he would ask those questions or then ask to see the youngest brother.
Finally, Judah offered a plan. Pragmatically, he proposed that they take Benjamin with them at once because without food they and their children were all going to die anyway. Judah personally guaranteed Benjamin’s safety. Then he offered that they could have already gone and been back if they had not dithered.
What decision lies before you today? It is likely not a life and death decision. If you dither, you will still be dealing with it for a long time. Pray. Decide. Act. Trust God to work.
