Romans 8:28-29
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
New International Version (NIV)
“It may be a blessing in disguise!” Mrs. Churchill once consoled Prime Minister Winston Churchill.  “Then it is quite cleverly disguised,” he responded.

It is difficult to see how some things in our lives could be blessings.  A diagnosis or job loss or death may bring great pain and anxiety.

“God is working,” says Paul.  He synergizes all things for good.  How so?  Paul does not say God will make us feel good.

Those who love God and answer his call know that God is working to confirm us to the image of his Son.  So the question is not, “Do you like God?” Instead we may ask, “Do we love God enough to let him make us like Jesus?’
Pray with me:
Good, good Father, thank you for working all things together for good.  Make us more like your perfect Son today we pray. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
This year we focus our Every Day with Jesus readings on Jesus’ story.  With references to Tallowood's Read Through the Bible in 2018 daily reading plan, let's focus our undivided attention on Jesus and follow where he lead. He will not fail. Neither will we!

Joyfully,
