1. Onboarding Documents and I-9 Verification Reminders |
As a reminder, employees hired at Georgia Tech are required to complete the onboarding documents and I-9 verification process BEFORE their employment start date. Please ask your employee to complete the process if one of the following scenarios applies:
1. They have been hired at Georgia Tech for the first time.
2. They have not worked, logged time, and received a paycheck at Georgia Tech in the past two years.
3. They have previously been employed at Georgia Tech as a different employee type.
There are three locations that students can visit to complete their onboarding documents and I-9 verification appointment at the start of the semester. Appointment location will be included in confirmation emails that employees receive.

2. Student Employee Onboarding Event |
Our annual three-day Student Employee Onboarding event begins today, August 13! Encourage your new student employees to sign up for an appointment on the GTHR Student Employment webpage and direct them to the event to complete their onboarding paperwork and I-9 verification requirements.
Student employees need to complete the onboarding documents via the Equifax Compliance Center prior to their appointment. During the event, student employees will be required to provide unexpired and original (not photocopied) identification and sign the Georgia Loyalty Oath and Security Questionnaire in the presence of a Notary.
We ask that you share this information with your students and ensure they complete the onboarding documents and I-9 verification process before they begin work.

3. Upcoming Payroll Notification |
All hiring transactions must be finalized in OneUSG Connect for employees to receive pay. Please be advised that hiring requests submitted outside of recommended timeframes may result in delays for student employees being paid on time. If you submit outside the recommended timeframe, we suggest you alert your student employees that they may receive a late payment.
The ASC team is working diligently to finalize all hiring requests before the upcoming payroll cutoff, but hiring requests submitted after the July 31 deadline are at risk of not being finalized in time.
We are actively monitoring the progress and will be notifying hiring managers and employees if their requests could be affected. Review the Direct Hire Unit Report knowledge article for more information on how to access information about the status of your hiring requests.
