2025 International Student Hub Awards

Nomination Deadline Extended to April 4th

We are now accepting nominations for three awards:

International Student Leadership Award: Celebrates a student who demonstrates exceptional leadership within the international community.
NYU Student Community and Camaraderie Award: Recognizes a student who fosters a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
International Student Solidarity Award for NYU Professionals: Honors faculty, administrators, and staff who champion international student life at NYU.

Who can be nominated?

Anyone who has significantly impacted student life through:

Organizing events
Advocating for student rights
Creating a welcoming atmosphere

How to nominate:

Fill out this Google Form by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 4th.

Extension Information for Academic Advisors

Students who are unable to complete their academic programs by the end date listed on their I-20/DS-2019s are continuing to apply for a program extension, particularly those who originally had end dates listed on their documents for May 2025. Please be aware that if you receive a request for extension from an international student, we have detailed program extension guidelines for academic departments as a resource for you.

Immigration 101

April 14 | 12:00- 1:00 PM

Join OGS for an introduction to general terms and concepts, the journey international students navigate to come to NYU from abroad, what requirements they're subject to, how and when they can potentially work.

This session is intended to help NYU staff, faculty, and administrators better understand legal aspects of the international student experience.

Key Highlights for International Students This Month

We continue to highlight to students that we are in the midst of tax season! All international students received this tax email in February, and we continue to update them on tax webinars available to help them in the filing process. Further resources can be found on our tax web page.
We are directing students who are graduating this year to our international visitor web page for further information on how they can invite family and friends to secure entry into the US.
If students are planning to graduate in the Fall 2025 semester and have fewer than a full-time course load remaining to graduate, we are encouraging them to learn more about the requirements to register for a reduced course load, directing them to our register part-time web page for further information.
We have begun our Journey to NYU email series (as of March 12) to all international students who have program start dates between May 15 and July 15, 2025. Follow along with the emails these students are receiving at our Journey to NYU web page.
