UW Nutrient Management Program Video: Growing Crops with Manure N-P-K Credits

Kevin Shelley, NPM Program South-central Regional Specialist, and Damon have a tailgate conversation about fall manure applications. The information needed to confidently use manure as a nutrient resource is discussed. Spoiler’s alert: they are talking about manure nutrient content and determination of manure application rate.

Nutrient Management Trainings Announced

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Nutrient and Pest Management Program is offering virtual training for farmers interested in writing their own nutrient management plans. This training will provide both the basics of nutrient management and an introduction to SnapPlus. The same training will be held on four different dates from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Pest Management Update Meeting-Virtual

November 19 | 9:00AM-12:00PM

This year’s speakers include Mark Renz, Perennial Cropping Systems Extension Weed Specialist; Rodrigo Werle, Annual Cropping Systems Extension Weed Specialist; Nick Arneson, Weed Science Outreach Specialist; PJ Liesch Extension Entomology Diagnostician; and Damon Smith, Extension Field Crops Pathologist. Topics include updates in the area of weed, insect, and disease management and a panel discussion and Q&A regarding pest management challenges related to planting soybeans early.

Registration for the virtual session includes links to pdfs of materials and a pdf version of the A3646 publication. Three in-person options are also available.
