Quarter 1 Extended Programs Recap:

St. Michael's welcomed our Dragons back after a sun-filled summer. Extended Day kicked off the year with fun-packed, energetic activities, focusing on high-engagement activities and kid-friendly positive interactions. As the year continues in Extended Day, we will emphasize positive reinforcements and a strength-based approach to learning.

Our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Focus

Every month in our program involves a different social-emotional learning focus, all emphasizing our DRAGONS' values. We learned and practiced Kindness, Respect, and Acceptance in the first quarter. Extended Day staff modeled and engaged the children through Kindness Ping Pong, Emotions Charades, fun songs, and more!

 Our Very First Scarecrow Competition!

Extended Day boiled over with creativity when the children designed their very own themed Scarecrows.  From Olaf to Patches we had them all. What a great way to welcome fall!

Pack SNACKS, Please!

Just a friendly reminder to pack your child a nut-free snack daily for Extended Day. We want the students to have the energy they need to seize the day with ED programs and activities. Nourishment after school is a must! Please label your child's snack and place in a separate container-- especially on hot lunch days!
Your Extended Day Staff thanks you in advance.

K-1st Grade

Our Kindergarten and 1st grade kiddos bring their creativity and imagination every single day. It is such a joy to see their bright smiles and hear the contagious laughter that takes place in this class.

2nd-3rd Grade

The 2nd and 3rd grades love embracing our beautiful trails, exploring the world of STEM, and playing new and fun games. A few class favorites include the Fruit Loop Challenge and Ultimate Frisbee. With their outdoor adventures and exciting STEM challenges, the fun never ends!

4th-5th Grade

Our 4th and 5th grade classroom dove straight into the world of art and cooking during the first quarter. The exciting Foodie Wednesdays included homemade guacamole and pizza bagels, and one of their favorite and ongoing art projects is the giant pom-pom!

6th-8th Grade

Our Middle School Extended Day friends have been living it up with Foodie Fridays. Middle school cooks and eats up as team. Foods on the menu this fall have been ramen, cookies, and waffle iron grilled cheeses! New to Middle School Extended Day is weekly Mindfulness and Tea sessions where they can share about their day and take a moment to connect with each other.
