Hi Neighbor!

We’ve hit that time in summer when the heat makes some of us just want to lounge around and not move much. Maybe a tall glass of iced tea or lemonade sitting on your deck is about as much activity as you're looking for. As an MLN editor, I can feel guilty knowing that there are so many interesting activities just waiting to be experienced in our area. The question is not what to do—it’s WHICH ONE to do!

In honor of Bastille Day, I offer a tasting of wine-centric events.  Pennsylvania has over 200 vineyards, and you can find several of them within a two-hour drive of the Main Line. All of these wineries have packed schedules of events, and some rent for private events, but I selected just one event to highlight and maybe pique your interest. Looking to get away with some friends or just do something a little different? Try one of these. I’m not saying you’ll cool off at any of them, but they sound like fun. And keep your summer safe—pick a designated driver.

Enjoy!
Jane

 T&E CARE SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

The drive runs through Sunday, July 24th
You can either sponsor a child(ren) or purchase items from our bulk list.  Remember not to go shopping until you confirm with us what you want to bring.  The lists of specific needs are on the website.  Drop-off items at the Tredyffrin Library or Play It Again Sports.
If you aren’t around these next 2 weeks, or you just aren’t into shopping, we can ALWAYS use general donations or gift cards.  We will use general donations to shop as needed for any unclaimed items, and we like to give each student a $25 gift card to Walmart, or Target or similar store to help fill in some basic supplies, or buy some shoes, or underwear, or whatever else might be needed. (With 240 kids at $25 each - that’s $6000 worth of gift cards!  It adds up fast.)

Donations or gift cards can be mailed to us at T&E Care, ATTN: School Supply Drive, PO Box 2111, Southeastern, PA 19399. If you don’t want to mail them, or think they’ll arrive too late (we need everything by July 26th) - then let us know at schoolsupplies@tecare.org and we can work out a different plan.  Many thanks!

Commonwealth Classic Theatre Company presents Moliere’s Tartuffe
Saturday, July 16th
7:00 PM
West Goshen Community Park
1025 Paoli Pike, West Chester

Enjoy Commonwealth Classic Theatre’s FREE production of Moliere’s comic masterpiece, Tartuffe. Moliere’s play pokes fun at both individual and societal moral smugness, and reveals (and revels in) the outrageousness of outright hypocrisy. Orgon, the head of a wealthy family, deceives himself into believing that Tartuffe, a seemingly devout, but actually rapacious grifter is, in fact, a man of impeccable morality and goodness. But Tartuffe is not heaven sent, and all hell breaks loose when Tartuffe sets his sights on Orgon’s fortune…and his wife. The fun heats up once the family, and the family maid, put a plan in place to prove Tartuffe to be a fraud. Bring a blanket, low-backed beach chairs, a picnic and your sense of adventure!
