National Volunteers Week

Did you miss out on thanking a volunteer during National Volunteers Week? If so you can still recognize volunteers as we are still collecting nominations.  Sharon was nominated and we would love to highlight more leaders like her! To nominate fill out a short form here.

Area Animal Science Day

Have you registered for Area Animal Science Day? The deadline is May 25th. *Horse project participants, make sure to check out the updated schedule for the day for the Area Animal Science Day - Sheboygan Site - Horse Judging Workshop and Contest. It is one you won't want to miss! Looking for more information about the contest or how to register: https://4h.extension.wisc.edu/.../area-animal-science-days/.

4-H Dairy Judging

Don't miss out on a great opportunity to learn more about cattle selection and compete in the 4H Dairy Judging Contest on June 15 in Sheboygan County!
Practices 6:30-8:00 pm include:
• May 2 | Loehr Dairy | W1237 Old Town Hall Road, Mt Calvary
• May 12 | Ryan-Vu Dairy | Hwy 175, Bryon
Others will be added once we find out who wants to participate and what nights work best for attendance.

Need YQCA for County or State Fair?
Make sure to visit the new website at http://yqcaprogram.org!

YQCA certification is a requirement to sell a market livestock animal at the Fond du Lac County Fair and is also a requirement for the Small Animal Auction.  Also, All junior exhibitors exhibiting animals at the WI State Fair in any Junior Departments must be YQCA certified at the time of entry. The certification must remain active through the dates of the Fair.
Once you have completed your YQCA certification, please forward a copy of the certificate to program assistant Katie Gindt (katie.gindt@wisc.edu) for the market livestock projects and to Tina Engelhardt (tina.engelhardt@wisc.edu) for the small animal projects. For state fair, please follow instructions at time of entry on how to provide evidence you completed YQCA.

June Dairy Day Celebration June 4

The Envision Greater Fond du Lac Agri-Business Council, in partnership with National Exchange Bank and Trust, invites the community to the 37th Annual June Dairy Days Celebration on Saturday, June 4. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at National Exchange Bank and Trust, 130 South Main Street in Fond du Lac. This free, community appreciation event is open to the public.

In celebration of Wisconsin’s dairy industry, the event will feature a variety of farm animals, dairy games, prizes, and more. A sampling of Wisconsin’s finest dairy products will be available including several cheese varieties, grilled cheese, butter popcorn, and milk. There will be activities for the whole family.

June Dairy Month is a state-wide celebration of the industry that defines Wisconsin and plays a critical part in our economy as the one and only, America’s Dairyland. What a great way to kick off the month by attending June Dairy Day!

Announcing WI 4-H Spark Days

Wisconsin 4-H will be hosting three separate 4-H Spark Days in June this summer to help youth explore their sparks at different campuses around the State! The Spark Days will be held from June 20-22, 2022. Each day includes hands-on sessions, career pathway exploration, guest speakers, meeting new  4-H friends from around the state, and fun. This opportunity will be open to youth in grades 7-10.
Registration will be done via 4HOnline, and will be open on May 2 on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration costs are to be determined and will include program supplies, a t-shirt, any local transportation, and lunch. More information is coming soon; you can find information about each day below.
